Hand sculpted and cast in sterling silver, this eucalyptus leaf pendant was inspired by a particularly gorgeous leaf found on the ground in the Australian bush. It is hand polished and finished with an antique patina.
This leaf caught my eye on one of my early morning runs. It was lying on the path just ahead of me, all dried out at the end of its lifespan, and the textures on it were extraordinary. The eucalyptus leaves in the paddocks where I run have very little texture when they’re young and green. They only develop texture when they age and sometimes, when they dry out, the textures are amazing. This leaf was so striking that I carefully carried it for about eight kilometres until I could get it safely back to my car, concentrating desperately the whole way to make sure I didn’t damage it.
