I am an Australian metal artist inspired by the textures and organic forms of the land.
I grew up on a working farm in country Western Australia and this early connection with the natural world continues to influence the way I live and work. My awareness is always drawn to the changing environment around me, the seasons, the weather, the animals, the movements of clouds and birds. The landscape and its inhabitants speak to me, and it is this conversation that inspires what I make.
I use traditional silversmithing techniques in my work, and I have a particular passion for lost wax casting.
My jewellery is made from sterling silver with semi-precious and precious gemstone accents. Every piece is lovingly handmade using the alchemy of the elements, particularly the fire element, to shape the metal into its final form.
I hold undergraduate majors in history, comparative religion and psychology, and a Masters in psychology from the Australian National University. I am currently expanding my practice through a Master of Fine Arts degree in jewellery and metal arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
