Asymmetrical Cuff

It gave me great joy to make this beautiful cuff for a beautiful woman. That’s the only symmetrical thing in this story. The rest is all improvisation and glorious asymmetry.

I loving making pieces like this - pieces that evolve as you make them. I started with a rough plan, of course, more like an outline than anything else, and I shaped and soldered the outer frame of the cuff as my first step. Everything else was put together moment by moment as I soldered first one piece and then another, deciding what shape I wanted next as I went along.

Made from sterling silver wire, this piece was such a joy to create. I hope it brings as much joy in the wearing as it brought in the making.
