Windswept

Buffeted by the winds of change, a woman stands with her tree, strong and proud, as the Earth rotates on its axis.

I made this headpiece out of copper sheet and wire, with some copper clay and melted brazing rods used to create the bark texture on the trunk (detail shot below). This was a labour of love and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. The finish is a mix of 1) raw copper 2) antique patina, and 3) verdigris patina to mimic the mossy green patches that grow on trees.
